w00t!!! 2 days and its already done! i love this little guy, even though looking at him should kill me.
it's a basilisk, a mythical creature that has been changed so many times over the years, it's almost as flexible in design as a dragon. which, is what it looks like here. but its not a dragon. IT'S A BASILISK. i tried to give it some muddy green to, i dunno, relate to poison. then i tossed in some bright colors to... also... relate to... poison. like a dart frog. then i figured i'd try my hand a BSing a cave-y backround for him. came out... alright. i need more color differentiation for rocks though.
I love these creatures!! you draw 'em so darn well!

Sometimes, when things are at their worst, it seems like the end. And sometimes, I'm not gonna lie, it is. But sometimes...sometimes it's just the beginning...and it's these moments we must live for...
Ahhh! Oh man, Alyssa I love your animal designs, especially with the series of mythical creatures you're doing. I...I was kind of afraid to look this thing in the eyes while admiring your colored pencil work! He looks so cool and snake-like, and I love the colors you chose for him. But mostly I think I just really love that black rose in the corner, it's a really nice touch and this whole thing looks like it belongs in a really old book about monsters.
w00t! i wish i had this idea before you, bah. i want to do fantasy creatures for all lettersof the alphabet now! *phail*
anywho, awesome colouring!
